Established under British colonial rule, Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code criminalized consensual sex between adults of the same gender, declaring it “against the order of nature.” On July 2, 2009, the Delhi High Court passed a landmark judgment repealing the antiquated clause, thus fulfilling a basic demand of gay rights activists and bringing closure to an 18-year legal battle. This film follows three members of Mumbai’s LGBT community as they make their way through the city and celebrate the first anniversary of the historic verdict.
